Walkers of every kind gathered in New York City on May 16 for the third annual DREAM BIG! Walk for Narcolepsy Network. From power walkers to leisure walkers, dog walkers to little ones just learning to walk, it was a fun-filled event for everyone. More than 130 people from across the country participated in this year’s event, which raised narcolepsy awareness and funds for Narcolepsy Network.
Although the day started out with some early morning rain, the clouds were clearing out by the time walkers arrived at Pier 45 in Hudson River Park. Following sign in and a short warm-up, the enthusiastic crowd set out for the 2.5 mile walk, enjoying spectacular views of the Hudson River and New York skyline along the way.
The walk received additional support from 11 people who started online “Dream Teams” to raise money from family and friends all over the world. Many team leaders also walked on May 16, while others used the teams as a way to support the walk from afar.
